Located in a residential area of Valldoreix, this house stands in a sober response to a discreet natural and urban landscape. The project is integrated through an architecture that seeks a balance between formal abstraction and Mediterranean sensibility, in a clear heritage of the work of Josep Lluís Sert, particularly in his way of revisiting rationalism with values of climate, light and everyday life.

The house is developed mainly on a single floor, confirming its horizontal and domestic character. All the functional spaces are located on the ground floor: day area (living room, dining room, kitchen), private area (bedrooms, bathrooms) and service areas. On the first floor, for a more introspective and reduced use, there is an independent studio, conceived as a space for seclusion with open views and zenithal light, separated from the rest of the programme to favour concentration.

Mediterranean light is one of the main materials. Through controlled openings, overhangs and patios, spaces are generated where shade becomes an architectural element. The result is an atmosphere of calm, where the contrasts between full and empty, light and mass, build a balanced sensory experience.

Orientation, volumetric compactness, solar filters and the use of native vegetation are passive strategies that reduces energy demand. The house is conceived from climatic common sense rather than from visible technology.
